Fiberglass mat - Fiberglass fabric for bodywork - Soudal

The fiberglass fabric (non-woven) is used with the polyester resin (Poly Liquid), or also in combination with the repair kit (Polyset).
It reinforces badly damaged surfaces, and even allows a complete repair of bodywork parts.

Features :

• Application of several layers is possible.

Applications:

• Repairs to metal, polyester and wood surfaces.
• Repair small holes and dents in car body parts.
• Replace or reinforce rusted parts.
• Heavy damage to boats, surfboards, etc.

Manual :

1. If used with Poly Liquid, cut the mat to the correct dimensions, with an overlap of approximately 3 cm on all sides.
2. Fray overlapping edges for a gradual transition.
3. Mix the desired quantity of Poly Liquid with 2 to 4% of hardener in the cup provided, so as to obtain a homogeneous mixture without color differences.
4. Apply part of the mixture to the support using a brush.
5. Soak the fiberglass mat and press it firmly against the backing.
6. Repeat the operation after drying the previous layer, in order to obtain greater robustness.
7. Make sure that the successive mats are 1 cm larger each time.
8. After hardening, sand with very coarse emery paper or with a sander.
9. For a good finish, again apply a thin coat of Metal Plastic.
10. Cleaning product: Acetone
11. Repair: With the same product.
