Sika concrete primer - Two-component primer - Sika

Sika concrete primer is a two-component primer for effective and lasting adhesion between membranes and cementitious substrates.

Features

  • Substantially reduces the probability of bubbling on sensitive substrates.
  • Treatment and preparation of supports which allows covering after a minimum of 30 minutes (under ideal conditions).
  • Combines fast setting with long service life.
  • Helps stabilize supports.
  • Easy application by brush or roller.
  • Can be used between coats to prevent pinhole formation.

Application areas

Sika Concrete Primer is a solvent-based, two-component, fast-setting, high-solid polyurea primer.

Application

  1. Ensure surface is dry and free of dust and laitance.
  2. Previously primed surfaces must be free of contaminants before re-priming or topcoating.
  3. The product can be applied to slightly damp surfaces, but they cannot be visibly wet (see Substrate Moisture section).
  4. Prepare the primer by mixing the base component (Comp. A) until a uniform mixture is obtained.
  5. Add the activator (Comp. B) and mix everything until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
  6. Apply at a temperature between +5°C and +30°C.
  7. During the entire application period and the hardening of the product, the ambient and substrate temperature must remain at least 3°C higher than the dew point.

Consumption

1 or 2 coats with a consumption of approximately 0.35 kg/m² per coat depending on the roughness and absorption of the surface.

Conditioning

  • 4.5L
