Stainless steel balcony drains (AISI 304) for cast membranes.

Models:

• BA-DF low and BA-DF high : The standard balcony drain with an additional inlet for the drain pipe from an upper balcony. Models intended for a cast (glitter) finish or a tiled floor finish.
• BA-IF low and BA-IF high : Same as BA-DF without additional input.
• BA-E10 : The standard balcony drain for collecting surface water from small balconies.
• BA-P150 and BA-P200 : Basic model for connecting a waterproofing membrane applicable to tiled floors.

The importance of effective balcony drainage:

When it comes to apartments, hotels, nursing homes or similar buildings, we make the direct connection with balconies. When building a balcony, it is essential to provide efficient drainage, because rainwater and wastewater that stagnate and infiltrate irremediably compromise the durability of the construction. In winter, the water freezes, which causes damage to the concrete structure. Spalling concrete exposes the reinforcing steel, which rusts, expands and in turn weakens the strength of the supporting structure. Firstly, cracks in the concrete and water infiltration inevitably cause nuisance for the lower floors and their tenants. What's more, for the tenant himself, it is not pleasant to enjoy the first rays of spring sunshine on a floor slab that is not clean. In the longer term, the balcony may even fracture and collapse, a risk that must be avoided at all costs.

Stainless steel: the only material perfectly suited to this application:

In-depth research shows that stainless steel (AISI 304) or stainless steel is the only material to which waterproofing membranes adhere perfectly and for a very long time. Plastic is highly subject to expansion under the influence of temperature variations and may burst after some time. The aluminum oxidizes and will form a white corrosive layer which will cause the waterproofing membrane to peel off. This is why ACO has developed a range of stainless steel drains with large gluing frames, for optimal adhesion of the waterproofing membrane, for a certain number of specific applications.
