0.05 mm thick synthetic laminated membrane with a modified 1.0 mm thick bitumen layer with removable protective film on the bitumen layer.

Membrane for sealing connecting joints between façade elements and load-bearing constructions in cavity walls, for sealing connection joints for corrugated sheets or profiled sheets, etc.

Scope: 

Synthetic laminated membrane suitable for: sealing connecting joints between façade elements and load-bearing constructions in cavity walls, sealing connection joints for corrugated sheets or profiled plates, repairing or sealing cracks in lead, applying gutter coating and sealing skylight joints and glazed domes (except PVC).

Advantage:

  • Self-adhesive tape.

Preparation:

  • The substrate should be clean, dry, dust-free and frost-free.
  • Remove sand cement veil residue with a brush and flatten the edges.
  • Treat the porous substrates beforehand using Primary Butyl & Bitumen ME901.

Implementation:

  • Treat porous substrates beforehand using Butyl Primer & Bitumen ME901 (see technical instructions).
  • On very rough surfaces, properly coat the pores (butcher).
  • Allow the adhesion primer to dry until it is still slightly sticky to the touch.
  • Cut the strip to the desired length. Remove the protective film and place the tape straight.
  • Press the tape, gradually removing the rest of the protective film (press preferably with a rubber gasket roller).
  • Respect an overlap of at least 50 mm.
  • Horizontal watertightness on vertical façade surfaces.
  • Support the transition from the inner leaf to the masonry (outer sheet) using an Eterboard fibre-cement board, for example.
  • Retain bitumen at least 10 mm from the front of the masonry.
  • For frames, the butyl angle can be used to ensure the airtightness and water tightness of the joints.
  • In case of outside temperatures below +10°C, store the strip at room temperature.
  • In case of low temperatures (<10°C), it is advisable to use a hairdryer.
  • Avoid overheating of bitumen.

Support Compatibility: 

Bituminous products may show signs of bleeding or migrate by absorbing plasticizers and/or solvents from building materials (PVC, Lexan, PU sealants, etc.). It is recommended to carry out a preliminary test.
