Rustic slate - Easy to place synthetic - Aquaplan

Slate-Rustic is a synthetic slate which is virtually indistinguishable from genuine natural slate .

Rustic Slate is easy to place on pitched roofs from 15°, as well as light roof constructions .
It is a unique and ecological waterproofing system made of recycled composite materials.

Benefits :

  • Strongly similar to natural slate
  • Easy to place yourself
  • 80% lighter than natural slate
  • 100% recyclable material
  • Resists all weather conditions

Application :

  1. Determine the center of the length of the roof and place a vertical chalk line from bottom to top as a starting point for each new row of slates.
  2. Prepare the initial slate by drawing a horizontal line on the 6” marking points (= approx. 27 cm from the bottom of the slate) and grinding it with a stone leveling disc or a scroll/jigsaw.
  3. Place the initial slates by screwing the first 2 initial slates to the left and right of the chalk line.
    Use the “nail” marking provided.
Plan at the bottom for an overrun of max. 3 to 4cm.
Place the following initial slates next to each other so that the edge of one slate touches the side face of the other slate.
  4. Determine the visible part according to the degree of slope of your roof.
Look here for the corresponding marking line and keep it consistently when laying the slates.
  5. Before placing the next row of slates, start with a slate to the left and right of the vertical chalk line.
The selected marker line always corresponds to the top face of the underlying tile.
Continue to work outward like this.
  6. Draw the exterior slate to measure, grind and screw.
For the next row, you again place the center of the first slate on the chalk line.
  7. Use the Ardoise-Rustique Fîtière to finish the ridge.
Prepare the ridges by cutting the non-visible part obliquely with a cutter or a jigsaw.
Always start facing the prevailing wind.
  8. Bend the ridge and screw the circular marking that is closest to each edge of the slate.
Continue in this way to the other end of the roof.
Cut the last slate to the width needed.

Color :

Black.

Conditioning :

  • 18 slates = +/- 1 m².
